How do you sum up the 85 year life of our founder and visionary? The answer: you can’t.
It is with great sadness we report that passing of Herm Geers. Herm passed away early in the morning July 11 surrounded by his wife (Shirley) of 65 years, his three sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other extended family members.
Herm was where our company history all began. He had a dream about starting his own grain company and did just that in 1976. The result is what we have today: Michigan’s largest handler of grain. He leaves a great legacy. He will be missed dearly by many people that respected and loved him.
- Visitation will be Sunday July 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Tiffany Funeral home 3232 W Saginaw, Lansing, MI.
- Funeral Monday July 15th at 11:00 at River Terrace Church, 1509 River Terrace, East Lansing, MI 48823. There will also be a visitation Monday from 10:00-11:00 ahead of the funeral.
- Contributions may be made in his memory to Gideon’s.
